User reviews on Moore Warren Theatre
Excellent theatre, very clean. Also, not everyone wants to sit around your kids and grandkids while they're trying to watch a movie, thus the balcony option. There are plenty of other places for you and your precious darlings to sit, and other backs of seats for them to kick while you sit oblivious to other paying customers. Leave the balcony to the grown-ups.
I call "bullsh*t on some of these reviews. For one, the Moore Warren is non-smoking, so there is no smoke from the balconies "contaminating" the lower sections. Two, the popcorn has real butter on it (if you think it's bad, you're just used to the cheap crap from other theaters) and no, they don't put butter salt on it because they have a variety of flavored salts you can put on it BY YOURSELF off to the side.
To the guy insulted because he wasn't offered a senior discount: Maybe it was a compliment to your youthful looks? My fiance is 59, but NO ONE ever thinks he is. He looks like he's in his early 40s. Maybe the ticket seller was new or swamped and didn't think about it? Did you ASK FOR ONE YOURSELF? Your $10 ticket was $13. Are you sure it was $10? Did you buy a balcony ticket online for a matinee? It is very clearly spelled out that the online purchase has a service charge. Not anyone else's fault that you didn't read it.
And if someone leaves the theater drunk (although I don't believe the Warren allows people to get drunk), it is on the customer, NOT the movie theater. They shouldn't have been drinking that much knowing that they were going to have to drive soon after. I make sure to have only a limited amount of alcohol and not drink it during the last hour of the movie, so as to be capable of driving afterward. Restaurants and bars allow people to drink alcohol and leave. Unless the person was obviously drunk, do we police those establishments? No.
I'm glad they don't allow kids in the balconies, because I'm tired of them kicking the back of my seats and texting and talking with no parents around, or even apathy from the parents when they are there.
And to the adults ridiculing some of the movies they show in the balconies: Yes, there ARE people who will pay for a balcony seat to see so-called 'kids' movies. I am one of them. I think you are just mad because they knocked off a movie YOU wanted to see in the balcony for something you DON'T want to see because you feel it (a kid's movie) is beneath you.
I'm not saying there aren't things I'd change about the theater, but it isn't for spite or self-serving reasons, or just not paying attention like many of you. I should stop reading comments; ignorant and selfish people make me sick.
Listen. I have kids and I DO NOT want the theatre to allow children in the balcony. Even on Saturday mornings. It's nice to have a place for adults to get away from other peoples noisy brats. When my wife and I get a baby sitter and go to the movies the last thing we want is to have somebody else' kids ruin it for us. Let's face it. Most parents these days suck and don't know how to/ aren't willing to parent their kid. This is especially true at a movie theatre. My feeling is that most of the people who want the theater to allow children in the balcony would also allow their children to ruin it for everybody else. Thank you Warren Theatre for your current policy.
This is the best theatre I have ever been to. It is beautifull and clean. We went to the afternoon show and was in the smaller room but it was very nice. The chairs actually rock and are so comfortable. The popcorn is a little high priced but you do get a free refill on the large popcorn & drink. The large drink is huge.I had some left after the movie was over.I like the fact that their popcorn doesn't have a ton of salt on it.The sound system is the best I have ever heard and a really nice size screen to watch.Check it out for yourself you won't be dissappointed at all.Oh and the people are very friendly.
I think they should stop selling alcohol and smoking upstairs and open it up for everyone else. Its not worth having a DUI after a good movie, other than that the service is good.
very nice theatre.
however, every time we go it is the worst popcorn i have ever tasted anywhere.
i cannot understand this.
if it weren't for the popcorn problem, we'd go there all the time.
but because of the popcorn problem, it's my theatre of last resort.
It is inconvenient to not know what movies are scheduled two to three weeks ahead. I am trying to make plans for out of town company and I don't know what will be playing during their stay.
That being said, I wouldn't go to any other theater because of the extra room, clean, no children and total comfort. My company feels the same way and wishes they had this theater in their hometown.
i don't like the way they alienate families by serving alcohol in the balcony area, and when you are in the downstairs below the balcony the smoke from up there contaminates the lower section. And the cost is far higher than other theaters in Oklahoma city.
Very clean, very quiet, very polite and nice staff, and very expensive, Not offered senior discount, $10.00 admission turned in to $13.00 at window. Will wait for DVD from now on. Concessions were ridiculously high. Probably wasn't 15 to 20 people in theater and no crowds in the lobby. Now there's going to be a couple less.
The Moore Warren is the only theater I go to now. It's totally spoiled me for any other theater. I only have 2 small complaints but they won't keep me from going to the Warren. The first is that they don't use that old fashioned, yellow, salt/butter stuff on their popcorn that makes movie popcorn so yummy. I fix that by bringing my own. The second is that they occasionally show movies in the balcony auditoriums that are a silly choice for those auditoriums.
Other than that, the theater is gorgeous, clean and a lot of fun to go to. I've been to the diner even when I wasn't seeing a movie. Full menu service, full bar and NO KIDS in the balconies is outstanding. The seats in the regular auditoriums are all delightfully comfortable and there's actual legroom between rows. The sound system drops you right into the middle of whatever movie you're watching. The fireplace in the waiting area outside the main bathrooms is a hoot. This is how movie theaters should be. The auditorium floors are all carpet and I don't know how in the world they keep it so clean; it's not gross, sticky or trashed. One thing I have noticed, though, and this may be the difference: the theater patrons seem to be careful about not dropping stuff on the floors and carrying out their trash when the movie ends. It seems that everyone wants to help keep the beautiful theater beautiful.
